The Garway Heritage Group

The Garway Heritage Group exists to document local history and make its work available to others who may share our interests. Members of the Group have spent many thousands of hours researching the past of Garway and surrounding places. We are interested in how the minutiae of places and family events contribute to the bigger picture of social development in our area from the Bronze Age to the present day.

We have also produced this website, with the help of the Local Heritage Initiative, to bring some of our work to a wider audience, and to provide a local on-line resource for the people of present-day Garway.

We are always delighted to hear from anyone who may have had contact with the village past or present who may have a story to tell. Please use the Comments / Feedback page of this website to get in touch with the Heritage Group.

Membership of the Garway Heritage Group is open to all. Regular meetings are held at which Speakers give talks on interesting Heritage related subjects. Information is also provided on current and forthcoming activities and events. Refreshments and an opportunity for social contact are also provided. The meetings, activities and events will be advertised on the website Noticeboard page and in the Parish Magazine.

Want to take part? For membership enquiries or other comments, please contact Garway Heritage Group.
