Garway Parish Council Who are your Parish Councillors? There are 6 members of the council Chair Mr A Phillips Vice Chair Mr M Jones Councillors Mr D Atkinson Mrs S Partridge Mrs R Sparey Mrs C Trew Clerk: Mrs L M Williams Herefordshire Council member (Pontrilas Ward): Mr Richard Smith, Footpaths Officer: Mr J Harris. What do they do? The responsibilities of the council are varied – planning, seats, bus shelters, rights of way, highways, litter, traffic calming, notice boards, footpaths and both Garway Common and Garway Hill Common . Routine problems that arise with Highways, are discussed during the Agenda item Parish Matters at the end of every meeting. The Council works closely with the Garway Hill Commoners Association. Mrs Carolyn Trew is the Parish Council representative and attends any meetings of the Association. More about Parish Councillors Following a Periodic Review of the Local Government Commision in 2002 Garway is now in the ward of Pontrilas together with Orcop, St Weonards, Aconbury, Harewood, Hentland, Little Birch, Llandinabo, Llanwarne, Much Birch, Pencoyd & Tretire with Michaelchurch. The Ward representative for Herefordshire Council is Mr Richard Smith who attends the parish council meetings.
