Welcome to Garway Online

This web site has been produced by the Garway Heritage Group with funding from the Local Heritage Initiative. It has been created to share the work of the group with local people, visitors and with anyone else who has an interest in the area. It will also grow to become a useful local resource and an internet portal to the activities of other local groups, associations and businesses. We hope you enjoy your visit.

The site is divided into three main sections, as shown below as well as having a direct link to the Garway Heritage Group site. You can return to this page anytime by clicking on the 'Welcome to Garway' logo at the top of every page. SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Garway Heritage Group announces the publication of their new book "Garway Hill through the Ages", the complete story of human activity on the hill and surrounding area from the Bronze Age to the present day. The book has been edited by Joan and Brian Thomas, with many contributions from local historians and residents. Read about ancient fortifications, the Knights Templar, religious persecution and how a region once regarded as one of the most remote in England and Wales has become the thriving community of today. An entertaining mixture of solid historical research and personal testimony, the book is extensively illustrated, with many photographs from local sources receiving their first publication. It is available, price £10, from local outlets, Waterstones in Hereford and other bookshops.
